The Maryland STEM Education to Employment Ecosystem (MSE3) is a statewide network of partners from education, industry, government, and community sectors working together to ensure that all Marylanders, especially our youth/young adults, have access to opportunities, resources, and mentoring experiences to explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Guided by its Industry Advisory Board, which informs priorities and aligns efforts with emerging workforce needs, MSE3 enables partners to design pathways that connect learning to employment.
Through its signature Constellations—Future Ready Maryland: Ignite AI Maryland, Robotics Across Maryland, and Future Ready Maryland: The Shipyard, MSE3 empowers partners to introduce ethical AI learning, elevate robotics competitions alongside athletics, and expand career-connected opportunities such as internships, apprenticeships, externships, scholarships, and co-ops.
Supported by its Industry and Academic Advisory Boards, MSE3 strengthens Maryland’s STEM talent pipeline by cultivating innovation, equity, and sustainability while equipping Marylanders with the skills needed to solve the nation’s and the world’s most pressing challenges.

Why it matters:
The Maryland STEM Festival was first held for ten days in 2015 and consisted of more than 300 separate events, attracting nearly 25,000 people. It has grown to a full month in duration. Since its inception, the Festival has reached over a quarter million Marylanders. The mission of the Festival is to encourage all students, regardless of age, background, and experience, to take a greater interest in STEM with the hope that they will pursue a STEM-related/focused career.

On June 21, 2025, we, the Maryland STEM Education to Employment (MSE3), in collaboration with the Maryland Center for Computing Education (MCCE), and sponsorship from Google, hosted the inaugural AI for Education Summit, a groundbreaking event that brought together educators, policymakers, students, and industry leaders from across the nation.
